BRANCH ALERT: New system targets information to specific, geographic areas

FBTX ~ Employing technology that can notify residents of anything from severe weather to community updates, via voice or text, the City of Farmers Branch is announcing the launch of the Branch Alert system.
  
Anyone wishing to receive this kind of information via phone call or text should log on at farmersbranchtx.gov and click on the BRANCH ALERT box to be taken to a screen where their account can be created.

 Users will be asked to provide contact and location information which will provide the opportunity to target messaging to areas of the City specifically affected by weather or other localized situations. City officials emphasize that all information will be kept strictly confidential and anyone can remove themselves from the system at any time.
