NEW: City Secretary's office enhances transparency with online public information request process

Open Information Request Portal
FBTX ~ Streamlining the process of public information requests like never before, Farmers Branch City Secretary Amy Piukana said her office is preparing to launch an online public information request process.
The City recently purchased a software program that tracks public information requests across multiple departments, standardizes the record processing and fulfills requests in an efficient manner.
The Public Information Request portal is now accessible online at the City's website,
"Citizens requesting public information will now be able to submit a public information request online, track the request online, receive updates by email and download any responsive documents," Ms. Piukana said. She added the City Secretary's Office has processed more than 475 requests this year, alone, noting the goal is transparency by making the public information process simpler and available entirely online.
"This system is a big leap in helping to keep up with the increased demand for public information as our city continues to grow."
