VALLEY VIEW: Construction will swap lanes in upcoming work

NEWSFLASH - road_construction_ahead_sign.jpg

FARMERS BRANCH ~ The ongoing reconstruction of Valley View Lane, between Josey Lane and Webb Chapel Road, will feature periodic changes of open lanes in the next few weeks as the project continues.

The initial phase of the project involved the replacement of an old water line on the eastbound side which reduced open lanes for motorists heading east.

Public Works Director Randy Walhood explained that while that work is ongoing, additional utility construction will cross the roadway, impacting the westbound side as well.

"Certain lanes will always be open and drivers will always be able to get through," he said. "However, during peak traffic times, alternate routes might be advantageous."

The Valley View project is part of the voter-approved $23.5 million street bond program. The work is expected to last through the Spring of 2017.
