With summer coming up fast, Parks and Recreation crews are working hard to finish the Mallon Park Playground upgrade.
The old playground equipment has been replaced by a bright green-and-purple, modular design with an engineered wood fiber surface and an adaptive swing unit. It also has a play structure that doubles as an interactive outdoor public art piece which children will enjoy climbing.
The adaptive swing unit will create a more inclusive park. Its surfacing has a “knitted” layer that will support various mobility devices, including wheelchairs, crutches, and walkers.
