FBTX ~ The City of Farmers Branch is encouraging all residents to step up and be counted in the 2020 U.S. Census.
Even though National Census Day has been planned for Wednesday, April 1, there is still plenty of time to take part.
As required by the U.S. Constitution, the U.S. Census has been conducted every 10 years since 1790. For the first time, the 2020 process will include options for response online or by phone in addition to the traditional paper response. Officials mention that a response code is not necessary to go online and fill out the Census.
The most recent census estimates place the population of Farmers Branch at 40,209. The formal census will deliver an accurate count as of 2020. Results will impact everything from school lunches, to plans for highways, support for first responders, families in need and so much more.
