FBTX ~ The Federal Communications Commission is warning consumers against scam robocalls that are targeting specific area codes in bursts.

The calls are coming mostly from the "222" and "232" country codes which are from the west African nations of Mauritania and Sierra Leone.

Several residents have reported receiving calls from these country codes, frequently in the middle of the night. The FCC warns against returning those calls as they will likely result in very large per-minute toll charges.
