Art at the Park Workshop:  Sea Print


Saturday, June 19 from 9 am to 4 pm 


Ages 7 to 14
$50 includes all material; space is limited and pre-registration is required.


Artists will explore different textures to create a stormy sea print. Inspired by, The Great Wave off Kanagawa print, by Japanese artist, Hokusai. Artists will also participate in various games. This workshop is guaranteed to be a lot of fun!

Ages 16 and up; BYOB for 21 and up, with ID
$35 includes supplies; space is limited and pre-registration is required.


During this three-hour themed workshop, artists will explore acrylic and watercolor paints with their own pre-drawn canvas. Each artist will decide the journey of their masterpiece.  BYOB limited to one bottle of wine or two beers per person.  Ages 21 and up only, must bring ID.

Victorian Fencing Demonstration

The Victorian Fencing Society will be offering free demonstrations in the Church and/on the lawn of the Queen Anne Victorian Cottage. Come and watch, learn, and practice the late 19th century art of swordplay with foils and sabres.  Gentlemen and ladies of all ages are encouraged to come and enjoy. 

Hands on History:  Dirty Jobs


Monday, June 28  from 9 am - 4 pm 

Ages 6 – 12
$50 per person; pre-registration is required.

Step back in time and try your hand at some of the dirty jobs that kept our town alive and kicking. Fire up the forge and grab a hammer to see if you have what it takes to conquer the frontier. We’re laying the tracks of Farmers Branch history and it’s time to grab your work gloves and help out! 

Camp activities include blacksmithing, calf roping with saw-horse bulls, exploring railroad track construction, making hand-cranked ice cream, and so much more.  

 Please bring a sack lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer to camp.

Camp instructors: Bonnie Neumann- Historical Cultural Specialist and our Museum Educator. Crafts and sewing with Paloma (DISD Art Teacher) during the afternoon.

Join the Historical Park on an adventure to meet girls from the past who have shaped America! Experience the life of girls from Tejas and the American Frontier through the Civil War and the Victorian era. This award winning camp will explore the impact girls have made throughout American history!

Artchella is going to space! Artchella is a weeklong day camp experience with a lifelong impact, launching kids into a galaxy of fun and learning. This camp offers a week full of hands-on science, drawing, painting, and sewing activities for creative kids ages 5-12. The programs centers on activities that encourage creativity and collaboration thru project-based learning, challenges, team building, outdoor games, and more. We can't wait to meet the mARTian in you!

Fairy Garden

Miniature Fairy Garden Workshop


Saturday, August 7 from 9 to 11 am 


Family Friendly
$25 per kit and includes one garden and all supplies; space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Come join the Historical Park and Home Depot to create your very own unique Miniature Fairy Garden. All you need is a little imagination and we will supply the rest. During this two hour workshop, we will help guide you in designing a fun and exciting landscape. Fairy gardens are ideal for all ages and creative abilities.  A parent or guardian is encouraged to work with their child to create their masterpiece.
