Elections Info

The City Council of Farmers Branch, Texas features a Mayor, elected at-large, and five Council positions, elected from five geographically-defined single member districts. The Mayor and members of the City Council are elected to three-year terms, staggered so that two positions are up for election each year. In 2017, the Council seats for District 2 and Mayor at Large will be on the ballot.

Farmers Branch voters must go to their county precinct polling location on Election Day. The City of Farmers Branch is located in Dallas County. Please click on the appropriate link to determine if you are registered to vote.

In order to vote in the May 6, 2017 General Election, a citizens must be registered to vote no later than April 6, 2017. Voters are required to present an approved form of photo identification in order to vote in all Texas Elections.

Application for ballot by mail
March 22, 2017 - First day to accept Ballot by Mail / April 25, 2017 - Last day to receive Ballot by Mail

Voter Registration ** YOU MUST BE REGISTERED BY APRIL 6 IN ORDER TO VOTE ** 
Last day for submitting voter registration application in time to vote at the May 6, 2017 election or for requesting transfer of registration in time to vote in new precinct not in the same county and territory.

General Election Early Voting Information

Early voting for the May 6, 2017 General Election will be held at Dallas County Early Voting locations to be determined, including Farmers Branch City Hall.

Election Day
Election Day is Saturday, May 6, 2017 with the polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
