TOP FIVE: DBJ names Farmers Branch Economic Development one of best in DFW

Dallas Business Journal
FARMERS BRANCH ~ With the value of last year's deals measured at $843.9 million, the Farmers Branch Economic Development Department was named by the Dallas Business Journal as the number four agency in Dallas Fort Worth for 2015. The annual Book of Lists lands the Farmers Branch department in the Top 10 for the fifth consecutive year. The 2015 rank of number 4 is behind only the Frisco Economic Development Corporation and the cities of Arlington and Fort Worth. The rest of the 2015 Top 10 includes Garland, Plano, Richardson, Irving, Dallas and Little Elm. In a separate listing, ranking agencies by number of deals, rather than value, Farmers Branch still finishes fourth, with 35 total deals - this time behind Colleyville at 64, Mesquite at 43 and Flower Mound at 41. Farmers Branch Managing Director John Land said the ranking is a validation of the great work done by his team. "We are acutely aware that our community relies on the strength of the business tax base," he explained. "As such, we move mountains when necessary to keep the flow of commercial revenue streaming into Farmers Branch."
