Barney Wood Bark Park sets grand opening festivities for July 19

Bark Park entrance

FBTX ~ Slightly more than a week remains until the Farmers Branch Parks and Recreation Department conducts grand opening ceremonies for the City’s first-ever dog park, the Barney Wood Bark Park, on Friday, July 19 from 6 until 8 p.m.

The event will begin with a welcome from Farmers Branch Mayor Robert C. Dye. Then, Bullet, Farmers Branch’s police K9, will perform the “First Fetch,” similar to the first pitch at a baseball game. After that, the park will be open for play.

During the event, there will be a Bark Park Donation station, a Parks and Recreation marketing booth, and a Farmers Branch Animal Adoption Center information booth. Food and drink will be available for purchase from Cedar Creek Brewhouse & Eatery, coming soon to Mustang Station Restaurant Park. For everyone’s safety, children under 10 must remain outside the fenced play area. Children between the ages of 10-15 must be accompanied by an adult.
