FBTX ~ The Farmers Branch City Council has voted unanimously to pass a new ordinance that will prohibit smoking in all public buildings.

The Council previously passed a modification to the City Ordinance where smoking in City parks and facilities is now prohibited. They also amended the definition of "smoking" to include use of electronic cigarettes.

The new ordinance expands the smoking prohibition to include all office buildings, restaurants and retail facilities. It also prohibits smoking within 20 feet of a door, open window or ventilation intake. The new ordinance will go into effect October 1.
