Welcome the yuletide with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Liberty Plaza. There will be an outdoor ice skating, fun activities for children, festive holiday music featuring local schools and theaters, and the lighting of the Christmas Tree with Santa Claus himself. Grab something to eat while enjoying a classic holiday movie. Shop local vendors for unique handmade/homemade gifts at our Holiday Marketplace at the Grove.

Skating Under the Stars

  • An outdoor ice rink in front of the StarCenter
  • December 7 is one of the free admission days for Farmers Branch residents. Must show ID to prove residency. Limit four per household for free admission and skate rental is not included.

Marketplace:

  • Shop local vendors for unique gifts at our Holiday Marketplace at the Grove.

Free Activities:

  • Lighting of the City and Stage Show
  • Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus!  Arriving by Fire Truck at 5:00 pm, be sure to bring your camera to capture the moment.   A suggested $5 donation helps support local non-profits assisting at Santa’s house. There will be no line reservations. Please note from approximately 5:45 to 6:15, Santa and Mrs. Claus will join Mayor Dye for the Tree Lighting.

Parking

All parking is free!

  • Primary event parking is located at Farmers Branch City Hall and surrounding lots, 13000 William Dodson Parkway.
  • ADA parking is available at City Hall as well as the Farmers Branch DART station, 12800 Denton Drive.
  • Or go green and ride DART to the event!  Liberty Plaza, the Grove and the outdoor ice rink are right across the street from the Farmers Branch DART Station

No Outside Alcohol will be allowed at this event. Items not allowed inside the gate:

Parking

  • Free, limited ADA parking is available adjacent to the event site on Bill Moses Parkway as well as nearby at the Farmers Branch DART Station, the City of Farmers Branch City Hall, and the Children’s Health Star Center.  All parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Accessibility

  • The event grounds are wheelchair accessible, but not all areas are easily accessible with a wheelchair or stroller. During an event, a portable accessible restroom is located in the park.

Service Animals

  • Persons with disabilities and their service animals that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for those persons with disabilities are welcome at City of Farmers Branch events.

While at an event if you have a disability and require an accommodation, please locate event staff. Requests will be addressed as reasonably and quickly as possible.
